The \u201c<strong>easy-pull<\/strong>\u201d flap allows a quick and safe removal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>COLD APPLICATION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cold application can be used as an <strong>everyday treatment for your horse<\/strong> and is commonly integrated into <strong>post-exercise management routines.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Indeed, after intense work, <strong>micro trauma to capillaries, tendons and ligaments <\/strong>can occur and controlled cooling may support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vasoconstriction and decrease influx of inflammatory mediators and toxins<\/strong><strong>;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Local temperature management and pain relief;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment of horses\u2019 haematomas, sprains, injuries, strains, ligaments and tendon damages;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Post-work comfort.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For best results, cold application is typically used in <strong>short sessions (20\u201330 minutes, no longer)<\/strong> and it is recommended to <strong>check the cold Gel-Packs regularly<\/strong> to ensure underlying tissues are not damaged.<\/p>\n<p>In case of severe injuries where hyperextension of the fetlock has occurred, ice therapy is required and you can use THERMOBOOT in 20-30min sessions 4 or more times a day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The continued use of cold therapy together with a controlled exercise programme is essential to recovery and speeds up the rehabilitation process.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The initial stages of injuries are critical so<strong> the sooner the ice therapy can be applied, the better.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>HEAT APPLICATION<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Heat application is generally used as part of preparation or relaxation routines to <strong>support blood flow<\/strong> by <strong>eliminating residual inflammation, fostering nutrient flow and<\/strong>, therefore,<strong> healing. <\/strong>Controlled warming may support:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Muscle relaxation;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Pre-activity preparation;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Soft tissue elasticity and flexibility;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Comfortable thermal support during rest;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Analgesic action and pain reduction (<\/strong>also useful for horses suffering from <strong>arthritis<\/strong><strong>).<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Heat should be <strong>introduced gradually<\/strong> and used in <strong>moderate intervals (up to 20 minutes per session, no longer).<\/strong> Before use, make sure to <strong>check the temperature of the heat source on your own skin<\/strong> in order to verify it is not too intense. Please do not forget <strong>to keep your horse warm<\/strong> after thermotherapies, using blankets to avoid it cools down too quickly.<\/p>\n<p>In case of swelling issues, please only apply heat 24 hours after no increase in swelling has been observed.<\/p>\n<p>Alternation between heat and cold therapies, gradually increasing the time heat is used and decreasing cold therapy usage per session, will allow the transition to heat therapy-only usage.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nIMPORTANT NOTICE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It is important to take a <strong>progressive approach to introduce your horse to cold\/heat therapy<\/strong> for the full benefit of the treatment and to ensure as little distress as possible;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tendon injuries<\/strong> <strong>can benefit from cold in the initial stages (24-48 hours after the initial injury) to reduce inflammation<\/strong>. After 48 hours, <strong>heat therapies can be used to increase blood flow to the area and help the healing process;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In case of <strong>suspected injury, swelling or abnormal symptoms<\/strong>, always <strong>consult your veterinarian<\/strong> <strong>before use<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>THERMOBOOT can be worn on both front and hind legs;<\/li>\n<li>Each set includes two reusable Gel-Packs (one per boot);<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do not leave the horse unattended during application<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>This product is intended for temperature management support only and <strong>it is not a medical device<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>COLD APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The purpose of using cold\u00a0therapy is to break the cycle of inflammatory response before it causes cell damage.\u00a0Cold treatment greatly reduces the amount of tissue lost to secondary injury.<\/em><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Store the Gel-Packs in the freezer so that it is always ready for cold application. Refrigerate the Gel-Packs for at least 2-3 hours before use.<\/li>\n<li>Insert the Gel-Packs in the specific pockets of THERMOBOOT. Do not use directly on skin.<\/li>\n<li>Leave on the horse legs up to 30 minutes per session. Press securely to ensure correct application. Make sure the straps are firmly closed but not over tight.<\/li>\n<li>Remove for 20 minutes and repeat cold application every 1-1.5 hours as needed. Please consult your vet for extended use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOT APPLICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The purpose of using heat therapy is to cause blood vessels to widen, increasing blood flow to the area where it is applied. This results in greater oxygen and nutrient transportation to that area, therefore promoting healing. Such treatment can also help with relaxing muscles and increasing elasticity of connective tissue in the specific area for a better performance.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><br \/>\n&#8211; Hot Water Method<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Boil approximately 4-5 liters of water.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the water from the heat source.<\/li>\n<li>Immerse the Gel-Packs in hot water for approximately 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove the Gel-Packs from the water and insert them in the specific pockets of THERMOBOOT. Do not use directly on skin.<\/li>\n<li>Apply to the injured area for 20-minutes intervals. Press securely to ensure correct application. Make sure straps are firmly closed but not over tight.<\/li>\n<li>Do not leave your horse unattended when using THERMOBOOT.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat the therapy up to three\/four times a day. Consult your vet for extended use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8211; Microwave Method<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Microwave ovens vary in power so you need to find the correct heating time for your microwave oven carefully. In any case, we recommend not to exceed 650W.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Before placing the Gel-Packs into the microwave oven, flatten them and ensure the gel is evenly distributed.<\/li>\n<li>If the Gel-Packs are at room temperature, heat on \u201cHigh Power\u201d for 10 seconds and leave to rest for 1 minute. If additional heat is required, try a further 10 seconds at a time, with equal rest time, until desired temperature is achieved.<\/li>\n<li>If the Gel-Packs have been stored in the freezer, heat on \u201cHigh Power\u201d initially for 15 seconds then leave to rest for 90 seconds. Further heating should be in 10 seconds increments, with equal rest time, until desired temperature is achieved.<\/li>\n<li>For future reference and more convenient heating, record the total time needed.<\/li>\n<li>Insert the Gel-Packs in the specific pockets of THERMOBOOT. Do not use directly on skin.<\/li>\n<li>Apply to the injured area for 20-minute intervals. Press securely to ensure correct application. Make sure straps are firmly closed but not over tight.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat therapy up to three\/four times a day. Consult your vet for extended use.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHING INSTRUCTIONS OF THE THERMOBOOT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the Gel-Packs from the THERMOBOOT;<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to close all the Strap straps;<\/li>\n<li>Put the THERMOBOOT in appropriate washing bags for protection during washing;<\/li>\n<li>Gently wash them in the washing machine at 30\u00b0C;<\/li>\n<li>Dry in a cool place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>WASHING INSTRUCTION OF THE GEL-PACKS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the Gel-Packs from the THERMOBOOT;<\/li>\n<li>Do not put the Gel-Packs in the washing machine.<\/li>\n<li>Clean them only by hand with mild soap and warm water.<\/li>\n<li>Dry with a towel and store them in a cool place.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CARE &amp; MAINTENEANCE:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please make sure to keep the THERMOBOOT clean by avoiding accumulation of dust, mud and dirt.<\/p>\n<p>Store in a cool and dry place.<\/p>\n<p>Do not use if Gel-Packs are damaged (e.g. if the gel is pouring out of the pack).
